music lyrics trivia - part 3

Michael Jackson

they don't care about us

ding!

Song stuck in me head...

"Rock / Psychedelic rock"

If I seem edgy, I want you to know,
That I never mean to take it out on you
Life has its problems, and I get my share,
And that's one thing I never mean to do

Hmm little puzzled by the genre.  "don't let me be misunderstood"  The Animals

"don't let me be misunderstood"  Santa Esmeralda

The Animals

Next Song:  Jazz/rock

It was the blackest night
There was no moon in sight
You know the stars ain't shinin'
'Cause the sky's too tight
I heard the scarey wind
I seen some ugly trees
There was a werewolf honkin'
'Long the side of me

Next hint:  Jazz/rock

I'm mean 'n I'm bad, y'know I ain't no sissy
Got a big-titty girly by the name of Chrissy
Talkin' about her 'n my bike 'n me...
'N this ride up the Mountain of Mystery, Mystery

I noticed even the crickets
Was actin' weird up here
And So I figured I might
Just drink a little beer
I said, *"Gimme summa that what yer suckin' on..."
But there was no reply
'Cause she was gone..

Hint 3:  Jazz/rock

*"Where's those titties that I like so well
'n my goddamn beer!"*
Is what I started to yell, then I heard this noise
Like a crunchin' twig, 'n up jumped the Devil...he's about this big...

He had a red suit on
An' a widow's peak
An' then a pointed tail
'N like a sulphur reek
Yes, it was him awright
I sweared I knowed it was
He had some human flesh
Stuck underneath his claws
You know it looked to me
Like it was titty skin
I said, *"You sonofabitch!"*
'Cause I was mad at him,
Well he just got out his floss
'N started cleanin' his fang
So I shot him with my shooter
Said: BANG BANG BANG

Hint 4:  Jazz/rock- about him:   (His disparate influences included doo wop music and avant-garde classical music; although he led groups that could be called rock & roll bands for much of his career, he used them to create a hybrid style that bordered on jazz and complicated, modern serious music, sometimes inducing orchestras to play along. As if his music were not challenging enough, he overlay it with highly satirical and sometimes abstractly humorous lyrics and song titles that marked him as coming out of a provocative literary tradition that included Beat poets like Allen Ginsberg and edgy comedians like Lenny Bruce.)

Hint 4: Jazz/Rock-Lyrics

Then the sucker just laughed 'n said, *"Put it away...
You know, I ate her all up...now what you
gonna say?"*
YOU ATE MY CHRISSY? *"Titties 'n all!"*
WELL, WHAT ABOUT THE BEER THEN, BOY? *"Were the cans
this tall?"
EVEN HER BOOTS? *"Would I lie to you?"*
SHIT, YOU MUSTA BEEN HUNGRY! *"Yes, this is true."*
WELL DON'T THEY PAY YOU GOOD FOR THE
STUFF THAT YOU DO?
*"Well, you know, I can't complain when the checks come through..."*

WELL I WANT MY CHRISSY, 'N I WANT MY BEER
SO YOU JUST BARF IT BACK UP NOW, DEVIL,
DO YOU HEAR?

"blow it out your ass, motorcycle man! I mean, I am the devil,
Do you understand? just what will you give me
For your Titties and beer? I suppose you noticed this little
Contract here..." yer goddam right, you son-of-a-whore,
"don't call me that"
That's about the only reason i learned writing for
...gimme that paper...bet yer ass I'll sign...
'cause I need a beer, 'n it's titty-squeezin' time.

Times up!  Frank Zappa- Titties and Beer

R.I.P.  David Bowie

January 8, 1947- January 10, 2016

Next song hint one:  progressive metal

I remember a time
My frail, virgin mind
Watched the crimson sunrise
Imagined what it might find

Life was filled with wonder
I felt the warm wind blow
I must explore the boundaries
Transcend the depth of winter's snow

Innocence caressing me
I never felt so young before
There was so much life in me
Still I longed to search for more

Hint 2: progressive metal (this song is over 23mins long)

But those days are gone now
Changed like a leaf on a tree
Blown away forever
Into the cool autumn breeze
The snow has now fallen
And my sun's not so bright
I struggle to hold on
With the last of my might

In my den of inequity
Viciousness and subtlety
Struggle to ease the pain
Struggle to find the same

Ignorance surrounding me
I've never been so filled with fear
All my life's been drained from me
The end is drawing near...

Hint 3: progressive metal

I'll always remember
The chill of November
The news of the fall
The sounds in the hall
The clock on the wall
Ticking away
"Seize the Day"
I heard him say
Life will not always be this way
Look around
Hear the sounds
Cherish your life
While you're still around

("Gather ye rosebuds while ye may)
(Old Time is still a-flying;)
(And this same flower that smiles today)
(Tomorrow will be dying")

We can learn
From the past
But those days
Are gone
We can hope
For the future
But there might not be one!

Band hint:  The technically proficient guitar playing of John Petrucci elevated this band to the upper echelons of contemporary heavy metal. While its lineup has continuously evolved, the Long Island-based quintet has consistently delivered sharp-edged music. This band is known for its high-energy concert performances. While they've released several live albums -- Live at the Marquee, recorded at the London club; Live in Japan, recorded during the Music in Progress tour in 1993, and a triple-CD and DVD, Live Scenes from New York -- they remain one of heavy metal's most bootlegged bands.

Hint 4 lyrics:

The words stuck in my mind
Alive from what I've learned
I have to seize the day
To home I returned

Preparing for her flight
I held with all my might
Fearing my deepest fright
She walked into the night
She turned for one last look
She looked me in the eye
I said, "I Love You...
Good-bye"

("It's the most awful thing you'll ever hear")
("If you're lying to me...")
("Oh, you dearly love her")
("...just have to leave...)
(All our lives")
("Seize the day!")
("Something happened")
("Gather ye rosebuds while ye may")
("She was killed")

[IV. The Darkest Of Winters]

Dream Theater Carpa Diem

Hmm tough call.  Ill give it a DING!  As you did name the band and one part of the song.  Yes Carpe Diem is the correct song tittle but it is apart of a much bigger song entitled "A Change Of Seasons"  Part 1- The Crimson Sunrise, Part 2- Innocence, Part 3- Carpe Diem, Part 4- The Darkest Of Winters, Part 5- Another World, Part 6- The Inevitable Summer, Part 7- The Crimson Sunset.  Total song length 23:42 and excellent song to watch them play live.

Next song: "rap"

When I say the word "fun", what do you envision
Probably drinking and smoking out with your crew
And chilling with clueless women you trying to bang, bumping New Edition
Is that all you think life really is
Well if so, then you're a fucking idiot
I honestly feel like grabbing your head and hitting it
Matter of fact, you don't even deserve a brain, GIMME IT!
Do you even have any goals
Aside from bagging these hoes and packing a bowl
Well let me guess- No
You're only in school because your parents make you go
And all you do is play beer pong and hang out with your bros
Yo, society's got you living for a whack cause
You're a fucking adult with no skills at all
You don't read any books or play ball
You don't draw, you literally do nothing at all
Still you fiend for the glamorous fruits
You don't have cause you idolize rappers that do
And all they say is "I got money and it's stacked to the roof"
And now you think that it's gon' magically just happen to you

Hint 2:  "rap"

Your friends are lowlifes, don't act surprised
Look, just cut the bad fruit off of the tree, make the sacrifice
Girls, stop acting like you want a guy with traits like Romeo
Bitch that's a fucking lie
You always talk about how every man's fake
And you can't take it and you want something real
Shut up tramp, save it
Twice a week you put on your makeup and damn bracelets
And head to the club half-naked with your ass shaking
Pulling a lowlife nigga who claim he cash making
Til you let him hit and find out he work at the gas station

One of them niggas got you pregnant and you can't raise it
But you caused it, your actions made a fat statement
You want Romeo, then act patient
And stop fronting like he in the club posted in the back waitin'
It's the club, where guys put on a new persona
After they get loaded with a few coronas
They always shouting and wild out with habits that very few condone of
Then they look for beautiful brainless bitches like you to bone 'em
Then when they leave you, you cry and cry
Talking 'bout, "Oh my god I can't find a guy
I've spent so many years and I've tried and tried
Why am I even on Earth? I should die"

Ill mind of hopskin 5

Ding!

next song:  "rock/alternative"

I have to block out thoughts of you so I don't lose my head
They're crawling like a cockroach leaving babies in my bed
Dropping little reels of tape to remind me that I'm alone
Playing movies in my head that make a porno feel like home
There's a burning in my pride,
A nervous bleeding in my brain
An ounce of peace is all I want for you
Will you never call again?
And will you never say that you love me
Just to put it in my face?
And will you never try to reach me?
It is I that wanted space

next song:  "rock/alternative"

I have to block out thoughts of you so I don't lose my head
They're crawling like a cockroach leaving babies in my bed
Dropping little reels of tape to remind me that I'm alone
Playing movies in my head that make a porno feel like home
There's a burning in my pride,

Will you never call again?
And will you never say that you love me
Just to put it in my face?
And will you never try to reach me?

Hint 2: Rock/Alternative

I'm sober now for three whole months,
It's one accomplishment that you helped me with
The one thing that always tore us apart
Is the one thing I won't touch again
In a sick way I want to thank you
For holding my head up late at night
While I was busy waging wars on myself,
You were trying to stop the fight
You never doubted my warped opinions
On things like suicidal hate
You made me compliment myself
When it was way too hard to take
So I'll drive so fucking far away
That I never cross your mind
And do whatever it takes in your heart
To leave me behind

"SONG INVASION PAUSE" - One of the reasons Mrs Deuce and I started this forum was to hopefully come across new bands and artists.  One great band enjoyed by both of us was suggested by DizzyDevil99.  Band name "Royal Bliss".  One of those bands that once listened too you sit back and wonder why you hadn't heard of them before.  Here is another great song by this band called  "Crazy"

A picture on a phone, the only way that I see my home.
All the times that I missed, all the times I'll never know.
And you don't understand it, how can I explain?
You're runnin' round in circles, calling out my name,
Oh, I wish you knew, that if I could I'd stay.

Yeah, I'm crazy, for you baby, can't you see?
And I'm wondering, if you're crazy, just like me. (just like me)

Standing on the corner of a street without a name I've seen.
And tonight I sleep alone, it's just the covers that surround me.
And you don't understand it, how can I explain?
You're runnin' round in circles, calling out my name,
Oh, I wish you knew, that if I could I'd stay.

Yeah, I'm crazy, for you baby, can't you see?
And I'm wondering, if you're crazy, just like me. (just like me)
Yeah, I'm crazy, for you baby, yeah, I lost my mind, why can't you see?
And I'm wondering, if you're crazy just like me.

Yeah, yeah,
And I wonder if you notice, all the days I'm not around,
Well I'll make it up someday, someway, somehow.

Yeah, I'm crazy, for you baby, can't you see?
And I'm wondering, if you're crazy, just like me, (just like me)
Yeah, I'm crazy, for you baby,
Yeah, I lost my mind, why can't you see?
And I'm wondering, if you're crazy just like me. (just like me)

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Yeah I'm crazy, for you baby, can't you see?
And I'm wondering if you're crazy just like me.

To mr and Mrs. If you ever get a chance to see Royal Bliss live, it is an awesome  experience. We have seen them preform  numerous times. Hell I even was invited up on stage with them for my 40th bday to sing " I was drunk". Thanks to my Mrs. Thank you for setting up music trivia. It's a blast to hear new music.

Sounds like an amazing experience.  We will definitely keep an eye out for when they come to town.

Hint 3:  Rock/alternative

And with a sad heart, I say bye to you and wave
Kicking shadows on the street
For every mistake that I had made
And like a baby boy,
I never was a man
Until I saw your blue eyes crying,
And I held your face in my hand
And then I fell down yelling,
"make it go away!"
Just make a smile come back
And shine just like it used to be
And then she whispered,
"How can you do this to me?"

Time!  Blue October- Hate Me

Next song: "rock"  (One of Mr Deuce favorite bands, probably in his top 3 picks, with good music spanning for decades and concert performances that cannot be matched)  This particular song in was released in 1987.

A restless eye across a weary room
A glazed look and I was on the road to ruin
The music played and played as we whirled without end
No hint, no word her honour to defend

I will, I will she sighed to my request
And then she tossed her mane while my resolve was put to the test
Then drowned in desire, our souls on fire
I lead the way to the funeral pyre
And without a thought of the consequence
I gave in to my decadence

One Slip

Pink Floyd

Ding!

next song- "country"

Turn it up son
Alright boys, this is her favorite song, you know that, right?
So if we play it good and loud she might get up and dance again
Aw she's pretty good now
Here she comes, here she comes
Left, left, left-right-left

Hustlers shootin' eight ball
Throwin' darts at the walls
Feeling damn near ten feet tall
Here she comes Lord help us all
Old TW's girlfriend done slapped him out his chair
Poor old boy it ain't his fault it's so hard not to stare at that...

Next hint:  "country"

Keepin' perfect rhythm make you want to swing along
Got it goin' on like Donkey Kong
And ooh well shut my mouth, slap your grandma
There ought to be a law, get the sheriff on the phone
Lord have mercy how'd she even get them britches on

Now honey you can't blame her for what her mama gave her
It ain't right to hate her for working that moneymaker
Band shuts down at two but we're hanging out 'til three
We hate to see her go but love to watch her leave

Time!   Trace Adkins - Honky Tonk Badonkadonk

Next song:  "Latin rock, Blues rock, Jazz fusion"

Like a gift from the heavens, it was easy to tell
It was love from above, like it saved me from hell
She had fire in her soul, it was easy to see how the devil himself could be pulled out of me
There were drums in the air as she started to dance
Every soul in the room keeping time with their hands and we sang

Santana with Chad Kroeger

Into the night

Ding!

Next song:  "alternative rock"   This song is very new, released on youtube 1 month ago.  The album is not released yet but this is a single released from that album.  This band has been mentioned previously in the music forum.  Scheduled to release in April 2016.

I'll smile if I want to
I'm not afraid, gonna flaunt it too
What a glow when you're living true
Yeah

I'm living for the right now
I had a few friends show me how
I take a deep breath and blow it out
Let it go

But listen I,
I can't wait to see what's around the corner
I can't wait to soar
Baby, I lie awake and I watch you sleeping thinking its the little things that make a home

Like dancing in the kitchen in the pale moonlight
Only care in the world is that our kids are all right
Daddy loves momma and momma loves him
Tomorrow we get to do it over again

So smile at me baby, take my breath away
With the good Lord willing, I'll be happy to say
That daddy loves momma and momma loves him
Tomorrow we get to do it over again

Hint 2:  "alternative rock"

So smile at me baby, take my breath away
With the good Lord willing, I'll be happy to say
That daddy loves momma and momma loves him
Tomorrow we get to do it over again

I feel like I'm gonna win
And I'm as proud as I've ever been
Cause I'm surrounded with some good friends
Yeah, good friends, good friends

I'm forever like a tattoo, yeah
I got to stay sticky cause I gotta be the glue for
My girl, my friends, my home, family, I do it all

Truly I can't wait to see what's around the corner
I can't wait to soar
But baby, I lie awake and I watch you sleeping thinking its the little things that make a home
Yeah

Final Hint: "alternative rock"

We found
Our home
Something we can build for years

The young
And old
I'll be there to wipe your tears

We all get to see
Who we grow up to be
And anchor when in doubt
An ocean when in drought

We aim for it all
We lift of these walls
To make this house our home

Dancing in the kitchen in the pale moonlight
Only care in the world is that our kids are all right
Daddy loves momma and momma loves him
Tomorrow we get to do it over again

Blue October

Home

Ding!

Hope I'm not crossing any lines here but I figured I would throw one out there.

CATEGORY: Jam Band

Think about what you want
Think about what you got
And all the things that'll heal or hurt you
'Cause when that big barn's full of peaches
It don't matter what the preacher preaches
The days are warm and the well is full of virtue

Jack and jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water
Jack fell down and broke his crown
Because he was messing with the preachers daughter

Open up your wings
Make a dead man sing
Such a good good thing
Just can't be wrong no no no

Not crossing any lines, everyone is free to play.  That song is Belly Belly by Dave Matthews Band.

winner winner chicken dinner.  Guess that won was too easy

Next song:  "rock"

Finally the hills are without eyes
They are tired of painting a dead man`s face red
With their own blood

They used to love having so much to lose
Blink your eyes just once and see everything in ruins

Did you ever hear what I told you
Did you ever read what I wrote you
Did you ever listen to what we played
Did you ever let in what the world said
Did we get this far just to feel your hate
Did we play to become only pawns in the game
How blind can you be, don`t you see
You chose the long road but we`ll be waiting

Hint 2: "rock"

Jacob`s ghost for the girl in white
Blindfold for the blind
Dead siblings walking the dying earth
Noose around a choking heart
Eternity torn apart
Slow toll now the funeral bells

I need to die to feel alive?

Hint 3:  "rock"  Last hint

Did you ever hear what I told you
Did you ever read what I wrote you
Did you ever listen to what we played
Did you ever let in what the world said
Did we get this far just to feel your hate
Did we play to become only pawns in the game
How blind can you be, don`t you see
You chose the long road but we`ll be waiting

It`s not the tree that forsakes the flower
But the flower that forsakes the tree
Someday I`ll learn to love these scars
Still fresh from the red-hot blade of your words

Time!  Bye Bye Beautiful- by Nightwish
